Mediterranean Amalfi Coast Itinerary(Begins and ends in Rome, Italy)
Civitavecchia (Rome) - August 7, 2010
Civitavecchia is the gateway to all the magnificence of the ancient city of Rome. Whether it's the Forum, the Sistine Chapel, the Pantheon or St. Peter's Basilica that sparks your interest and intellect, Rome is home to a lifetime's worth of historical, architectural and spiritual sites. Depending on traffic, the drive from Civitavecchia to Rome takes approximately an hour and a half.
Bonifacio, Corsica - August 8, 2010
Bonifacio enjoys a superbly isolated location at Corsica's southernmost point, a narrow peninsula of dazzling white limestone creating a town site unlike any other. The much-photographed haute ville, a maze of narrow streets flanked by tall Genoese tenements, rises seamlessly out of sheer cliffs that have been hollowed and striated by the wind and waves.
Poltu Quatu (Porto Cervo) - August 9, 2010
Poltu Quatu is on the Mediterranean Sea, Liscia Di Vacca, Sardinia Italy. Poltu is a Beautiful port town, some rocky outcropping to watch out for otherwise a very pleasent port. Great snorkling in the area. Fishing is also fantastic.
Positano - August 10, 2010
Protected from the Northern winds by the Lattari Mountains, Positano has a mild and dry climate. The structure of the town is very original; its buildings cling, in tiers to the rock face. The small houses, all huddling on top of each other, so characteristic of Positano, form the subject of endless photos. The vibrant colors; the white of the buildings, forming a perfect canvas for the bright flowers which decorate the houses, and the small artisans', shops with their multihued cloths, present the visitor with a vista which is almost difficult to believe.
Amalfi - August 11, 2010
Amalfi is the heart of this magnificent Italian coastline and a must-see town on your Amalfi Coast adventure. The beach can be crowded in summer, particularly in August when Italians are on holiday and let their kids loose for the month on the strip of pebbled beach. Evening walk along the marina to where the mega-yachts dock in summer time.
Capri - August 12, 2010
Capri is an Italian island off the Sorrentine Peninsula, on the south side of the Gulf of Naples, in the Campania region of southern Italy. It has been a resort since the time of the Roman Republic. Features of the island are the Marina Piccola (Small Harbor), the Belvedere of Tragara, which is a high panoramic promenade lined with villas, the limestone masses called Sea Stacks that stand out of the sea (the Faraglioni), Anacapri, the Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra), and the ruins of the Imperial Roman villas.
Sorrento - August 12 & 13, 2010
Sorrento is the Land of Mermaids. Land of Orange and Lemon Groves. Land of Colors. This small city in Campania has earned a plethora of alluring names. Famed for its sea cliffs, the town's steep slopes look out over azure waters to Ischia, Capri and the Bay of Naples. The birthplace of Limoncello liqueur offers some good diving, great sea fishing, boat cruises and appetizing restaurants. Excellent hiking trails cross the peninsula. Rent a car or take a taxi if the steep streets look too intimidating.
Civitavecchia (Rome) - August 14, 2010
Videos from Zoom Mediterranean Mega-Yacht Trip 2009 Video
Click on the video to get an idea of our mega-yacht voyages! We started in Venice, and went to several Croatian, Turkish, and Greek ports, including Mykonos, and ended in Athens. We jet-skied in Dubrovnik, had a private concert in the ruins of Ephesus, and ate and drank incredibly well on the yacht. In addition to seeing beautiful sites, we spent some important time pampering ourselves. One can never get too much of that!
