The Alternative 2009 summer event takes place between 6th and 13th September, in the stunning resort of Cala Dei Saraceni in Italy.

The Resort

This recently constructed resort is located in a panoramic position by the sea on the northernmost portion of the Ionic coast close to where Calabria meets Basilicata. Immersed in Mediterranean woods, a short walk from an ancient Norman castle and the remains of a lookout tower, the resort is just a few kilometres from the lovely town of Roseto Capo Spulico and 37 km from Sibari, known for its ancient Magna Graecia Ruins.

Extending over an area of 25,000 sq mt, the complex is made up of a main two-storey building facing a natural terrace which overlooks the enchanting gulf and a portion of the accommodations; other Mediterranean-style accommodations and the luxurious Aqua Suites are located by the main pool and leisure area which features a hydro-massage pool where the main restaurant, bar, and roof garden are located. This exclusive resort also features a pool bar, sports area, amphitheatre, and a wellness centre.

The Beach

The private sand/stone beach is located from 500m from your accommodation. The sea, which has been awarded the Blue Flag several times, is one of the most beautiful and pristine locations the splendid Ionian seacoast has to offer. Chaise lounges, beach umbrellas, showers, restrooms and a restaurant/bar serving brunch are all available to guests. Escalator and private courtesy bus are available to reach the beach.

Accommodation

All rooms are richly appointed and feature telephone, LCD television, air-conditioning, bar-fridge, safe, bathrooms with tub/shower and hairdryers, wide patio or terrace/balcony.

Restaurants

Main restaurant with air-conditioned indoor dining or outdoor terrace. Mediterranean Restaurant by the beach with buffet service. Panoramic restaurant over viewing the sea.

Amenities

Reception area, approx. 800 sq mt pool with hydro-massage area and pool bar surrounded by equipped solarium, leisure area with hydro-massage pool, newsstand, shop, disco club, amphitheatre for animation features, tennis court, five-a-side, parking, garage.

Wellness Centre

The Wellness Centre offers guests a relaxing space in which to end an active day by the sea. It boasts a sauna, Turkish bath, aromatherapy shower and hydro-massage tub, as well as a wide choice of massages (for a charge).

Convention Centre

The Resort features a new 350-seat hall, a 170-seat hall, equipped with state-of-the art technology. There are also 4 other meeting rooms offering 10-50 seat occupancy.

The Resort Accommodation

All the accommodation is richly appointed and features telephone, LCD television, air-conditioning, bar-fridge, safe, bathrooms with tub/shower and hairdryers, wide patio or terrace/balcony.

Standard rooms for double occupancy with shower are with patio and located on the ground floor.

Classic rooms, with hydro-massage tub, are on the 1st floor in the main area near the pool and restaurant.

Dolce Vita rooms, larger than Classic rooms, are near the wellness centre and can house up to 3 people.

Aqua Suites for 2 or more guests are all on ground floor, all large and sunny with a furnished outdoor veranda, a hydro-massage tub and two-sink bathrooms; they feature a living room with a twin or double sofa bed (lenght 180 cm) and master bedroom. Classic and Aqua Suites are also available with sea-view.

Food And Drink : All Inclusive Formula

Buffet breakfast
American coffee, milk, cappuccino, tea, herb tea, hot chocolate, fruit drinks (3 flavours), traditional yogurt (2 flavours), bread, toast, shortbread, slices of crispy toast-like bread, jam (5 flavours), corn flakes, rice e choco flakes, cakes, plum cakes, cooked ham or salami, Edamer cheese or similar, hard boiled eggs, soft-boiled eggs, preserved fruit (2 flavours).

Brunch

Buffet service at the beach restaurant: variety of starters, rotisserie, pizza, mixed salads, pasta, macaroni salad, mixed vegetables, bread, dessert buffet and fruit buffet; water, wine and beer included.

At the main restaurant (with supplement and reservation the day before): waiter service variety of starters, first course, meat, fish, mixed vegetables, fruit and dessert; sparkling and still water on tap, white and red wine on tap, draft beer included.

Pocket lunch is guaranteed in case of excursions. It includes: 2 ham roll or similar, fruit, sweet and 1 bottle (0,5 lt) of water.

Dinner
Buffet service at the main restaurant Hot and cold starters, rotisserie, pizza, hot flat bread, mixed vegetable omelet, starters of the day, choice between 3 first courses (1 soup a 2 pastas or similar), choice between 2 main courses, hot side dishes, 3 types of salads, buffet fresh fruit and buffet dessert, sparkling and still water on tap, white and red wine on tap, draft beer included.

Gala Dinner
At the panoramic restaurant with waiter service (with supplement and reservation).

Room breakfast service – € 12 supplement per person.

Open Bar
(from morning till night) by the Pool Bar and Beach Bar: all coffee, sparkling and still water on tap, soft drinks on tap, fruit drinks on tap; snack (sandwiches, pizza, fruit, cakes) at fixed time.
