 Playaflor Chill-Out Resort is located right in the centre of Playa de las Americas, one of the main tourist settings in south Tenerife, in Arona district. Just across the avenue, we can find a magnificent beach surrounded by all kinds of venues: Restaurants, bars, pubs, discos, shopping centres, casino, taxi and bus stop and all that you could expect from this privileged location.
Reina Sofia, Tenerife south international airport, is the main entry gate for the island, only 15 Km. away from resort. The main golf courses, thematic parks, pleasure harbours, cultural centres and shows are at a minimal distance from Playaflor.
This was the first gay complex to open in Las Americas and, although the resort has previously been firmly entrenched in the world of heterosexuality (well, it takes all sorts), there's a burgeoning gay scene which is fast going from strength to strength. This scene includes Geminis Bar two minutes away, the Cellar Bar, Gay-Sha Dance Club, Punto Zero and Chaplins, which actually has a darkroom, whatever that may be. Two new venues, more or less across the road from the Playaflor, are set to open in the next few months, all of which will contribute to placing Playa de las Americas firmly on the gay map.
Run by the very sexy two Davids, the Playaflor is located right in front of the Las Americas beach and has recently been refurbished as part of its reinvention as a gay complex. It's made up of three-storey, attractively decorated town houses; on the ground floor, you'll find a fully-equipped kitchen and a living room with satellite TV (pay-per-view gay xxx channels available - yippee), while on the first floor you'll find your bathroom and your bedroom. The top floor comprises your own private sun terrace.
You'll love the Playaflor's pool, around which you can sunbathe and chill to the best ambient music of the moment. You know the kind of thing: Café del Mar, Buddha Bar, etc.) and, if you want to surreptitiously check out the Gaydar profiles of your fellow guests, the complex is equipped with wi-fi technology so you can play with your mouse from the comfort of your sunbed.
No gay complex would be complete without a bar, so it's no surprise that the focal point of Playaflor is its own chill-out bar, while if you want you can have breakfast served in your townhouse on request. There's the occasional poolside barbecue party, special DJ nights (that's disc jockey, not dinner jacket), and - most importantly - some extremely helpful and dedicated staff.
PlayaFlor Chill Out Resort, is fitted with twenty-three bungalows. The peculiar interior distribution is no less than the external fachade.
The bungalows, happy and bright, are divided into three levels: Kitchen and Living room on the ground floor, bathroom and bedroom on the first floor and a private solarium on the third floor.
Decorated with the best chill-out philosophy, we have created original and different spaces taking us into the Arab world, with the entire characteristic ornamental and craftsmanship richness; or Africa, with a mixture between colonial and tribal. Some bungalows are homage to the actual times full of design and minimalism, no doubt, all of them with a great personality and expression of style.
Fitted with microwave, satellite T.V., safety deposit box and some of them wi-fi connected to be able to surf the net, make Playaflor a very special place to spend unforgettable holidays.
