This excellent duo of aparthotels are located just five minutes' walk from the Yumbo Centre with a courtesy bus running regularly down to the beach, saving you lots of energy for some serious sunbathing.
As you probably know, an aparthotel works just like any other hotel, but you get your own self-catering facilities as well, giving you a whole lot more choice and freedom.
Located across the road from each other, you can use the facilities of both beautifully-maintained properties irrespective of which one you're staying in, and these facilities include a couple of restaurants, two adult swimming pools with poolside bars, restaurants, TV rooms, internet access, sunterraces with complimentary sunbeds and parasols, plus a sauna. Evening entertainment is provided at the Miraflor Park.
Studios come with twin beds, a balcony, safety deposit box (payable locally), satellite telly, an ensuite bathroom and a furnished balcony. There's a sofa which (in the Rondo) converts into a bed for a third person. There's also what we call a 'concealed kitchen', which is like one of those things you have in a caravan; it looks like a cupboard but when you open the doors you're greeted by a fridge, sink and electric hob. Not that any of us have ever been in a caravan of course, not really being attracted to spending a fortnight shut in a large metal box, holding up traffic and doing our business in a bucket. Really, what is the point of that?
The suites, sleeping up to five people, are located at the Rondo and have a separate bedroom and a living room with two beds as well as an ensuite bathroom, satellite TV, concealed kitchen and a balcony. The bungalows offer the same facilities but, obviously, they're all on one level rather than in an apartment block.
The pub at the Rondo is a pretty traditional affair with entertainment provided, converting itself into a lounge-lizardy piano bar once a week. There's also a large TV screen in the pub for those of you who can't live without a regular dose of football.
Staying at the Rondo or the Miraflor means that you're booked on a half-board basis - that's breakfast and evening meal included. The management do enforce a bit of a dress code - long trousers must be worn (if you're a fella) and do put something on your feet as bare tootsies are a no-no. And quite right too! The food is pretty much what you'd expect - pasta, pizza, fish and a choice of meats, but there's also a section of the restaurant where a proper Chinese chef will prepare Chinese food for you and this is included in your holiday price.
Before we say toodle-oo, there's just time to tell you that maid service takes place every day, with towels changed five times a week and bedlinen once.
