Overview
In 1902, the largest, fastest sailing ship the
world had ever seen was launched. The legendary
Preussen dominated the seas, and the world has
not seen such a magnificent sailing ship since
- until now. If you're looking to experience
the true romance of the sea, then be one of the
pampered guests on the Royal Clipper - the largest
and only five-mast full-rigged sailing ship afloat.
It's the perfect way to explore small ports and
gems of the Caribbean. Just traveling the sea
by wind-power is an experience you'll not forget.
With its white sails gleaming in the sun,
the Royal Clipper will show us a very unique
view of the Caribbean, winding between lush
volcanic islands and stopping in private, protected
anchorages in the Windward Islands.
We set sail from Bridgetown, on the wild and
rugged coast of Barbados. The isolated beaches
here are the color of sunrise, the red sands
having blown all the way across the Atlantic
from the Sahara. Bridgetown is a fascinating
town, revealing its British-influenced heritage
with traditions like cricket and high tea (George
Washington actually did sleep here!).
|
The Clipper experience is relaxed. We set our sails to the wind and the sea. Our ports will include some of the best of the southern Caribbean, and at stops where most cruise ships are unable to go. This isn't a "barefoot" cruise. Luxury and attention-to-detail eminates throughout from the gleaming, polished woodwork and beautiful two-story atrium to the incredible black and white marble bathrooms.
Venue
The 439 ft. Royal Clipper offers the ultimate
sea-going experience, balancing the grandeur,
adventure and tradition of sailing with the
superb service, amenities and accommodations
of the finest modern yacht. Royal Clipper carries
just 227 guests in luxurious style.
A full 19,000 square feet of open deck and
three swimming pools create a wonderfully spacious
and expansive outdoor environment. Relax in
the nets under the bow sprit as the sea glides
beneath you. Or climb the mast (safety harness
provided) to one of the passenger lookout "crows'
nests," for the grandest view of all.
Royal Clipper's interior spaces are just as
sizzling: a 3-deck atrium that funnels sunlight
into the elegantly appointed, 3-level dining
room. A convenient marina platform lowers from
the stern for diving.
Highlights include:
Snorkeling & scuba diving
Drop down sports deck
Beautiful beaches
RSVP dances & entertainment
Marble private baths
Beautiful teak decks
Three swimming pools
Three story dining room atrium
Ride on the bow sprit net
Excursions, hiking and shopping
Activities
Life aboard the Royal Clipper takes you at the
pace you're most comfortable with. There are
plenty of activities to keep you busy all day
long if you like. Take a tour in one of our
enchanting ports of call, play in the pool,
try snorkeling or scuba diving, relax in the
nets under the bow sprit, grab a lounge chair
and enjoy some time in the sun, catch up on
your reading in the library or hang out with
your friends old and new at the Tropical Bar.
In the evening, enjoy a scrumptious dessert
and cabaret-style entertainment sure to please
after a night of elegant dining. Late night
we'll even pump up the music at the Tropical Bar and enjoy dancing
in the open air.
