RSVP 25th Anniversary Caribbean Cruise
February 13 – 20, 2011
Holland America Nieuw Amsterdam
RSVP Celebrates 25 Years with a Brand New Ship and Exciting Caribbean Itinerary.
It's RSVP's 25th anniversary, and to celebrate, we're throwing a fabulous party! Join us as we sail Holland America's newest ship– the Nieuw Amsterdam – for seven sun-filled, fun-filled, party-filled days through the stunning waters of the Western Caribbean. We'll begin in one of our favorite ports – Ft. Lauderdale - then sail to Costa Maya, Puerto Cortez, Roatan and Cozumel. Snorkel or scuba the world's second largest reef, zip-line through the rainforest, whitewater raft, or visit the spectacular ruins of Copan – this is one of our favorite itineraries, offering some of the most exciting and diverse experiences in the Caribbean.
You've come to expect the best in entertainment, plenty of activities, and our signature theme parties – and this cruise will have them all. By day, soak up the sun by one of two pools, join in our pool games, hit the gym, or just cruise the decks. Show off your costumes at our signature T-Dances before heading off to dinner at one of the excellent dining choices aboard. And as our first day at sea is Valentine's Day, expect some surprises for this special holiday.
When the sun goes down the ship will explode with special guest stars (past cruises featured Rita Moreno, Joan Rivers, Harvey Fierstein, Jennifer Holiday, Diane Schuur, Debbie Reynolds and Leslie Jordan...to name just a few), unique cabaret from some of the hottest talent around, our intimate Piano Bar with your favorite show tunes and sing-a-longs and a couple of surprises that will have you screaming for another encore. Then cap your evening at our famous (and sometimes infamous) RSVP theme parties, with music by some of our favorite DJs.

Your Ship - Holland America's brand newNieuw Amsterdam
Sleek, sophisticated, and stylish - the Nieuw Amsterdam is the perfect ship to experience the Caribbean with 2100 gay and lesbian friends. Built in the finest Italian shipyard - she will impress you with her modern design, panoramic ocean views, innovative dining options, large and well-appointed staterooms, and unique entertainment venues. Bearing the original name of the City that Never Sleeps, the Nieuw Amsterdam updates the elegant tradition of the Holland American Line to reflect the glamour and history of New York. And she's as big as the Big Apple, with eleven passenger decks, a three-story Broadway-style theater, two pools, and six restaurants and cafes. Try your luck at the casino, meet up with friends at one of the many bars or the wine-tasting lounge, learn a new skill at the Culinary Arts Center, or take in a favorite movie. Shop at the luxury jewelry boutique, or just relax in the three-story atrium. Need to stay connected? Check out Explorations Cafe where you can check email or surf the web, enjoy one of the largest libraries at sea, all while sipping a Cappuccino.
Looking for more relaxing options? Pamper yourself at the expanded Greenhouse Spa and Salon– featuring thermal suites and a hydro-pool. Lounge by one of the two outdoor pools, or soak in a Jacuzzi under the Caribbean sky. You can also stay in shape in the largest gymnasium ever built for the Holland America Line.
Whether you're looking for excitement, relaxation or anything in between, the Nieuw Amsterdam is the perfect ship for your RSVP cruise.

Dining
For some people, a cruise is all about the food. And dining is an integral part of your RSVP vacation. The exceptional Holland America culinary staff offers sophisticated menus for you to enjoy in a wide variety of venues. Whether you're looking for a casual meal poolside, a romantic elegant meal, or a relaxing dinner with friends, there's always something to appeal to your taste and style.
Formal Dining
The Manhattan Dining Room features one of the most extensive wine lists at sea, and is the perfect venue to enjoy a relaxing meal with your new friends. This formal dining room is located aft - with windows on three sides, a grand stairway, elegant atmosphere and multiple table arrangements for parties from two to groups of eight.
Specialty Restaurants
For a more elegant affair, The Pinnacle Grill offers intimate, reservations-only dining featuring Sterling Silver premium beef and fresh seafood. Located midship adjacent to the grand Atrium, the Grill and its stylish Bar provide a very special dining experience - with all the romance you and your special someone might expect from an up-market restaurant in any metropolitan city. The intimate Tamarind Pan-Asian Dining Room offers unique Asian fusion cuisine. The reaction to this one-of-a-kind experience has been overwhelming. Located on the highest point of the ship, with amazing panoramic views, the Tamarind is an experience unlike any other cruise ship.
Casual Dining
If you're looking for a more casual option, the indoor-outdoor Lido Restaurant has both an air-conditioned restaurant, as well as "al fresco" dining on deck. The buffet-style Lido changes daily, with freshly prepared dishes to suit any appetite. From grilled Paninis to Sushi, or BBQ chicken and ribs to fresh salad options, whatever you crave - the Lido is ready to please.
Swimsuits are always suitable dining attire at the Terrace Grill where you can get a freshly grilled hamburger with crispy French fries to go. No need to give up your Deck Chair - just stop by the Grill and pick up your order.
Something Different
Those looking for a bit of a proper experience can enjoy Royal Dutch High Tea in the afternoons. Set in the elegant Explorer's Lounge, this flashback to the Golden Days of Sailing features specialty Teas, gourmet pastries and canapés, and Classical music from the ships string quartet. You will feel like "Royalty" being served by your very own staff.
Still Hungry?
If an entire day of RSVP activities leaves you wanting something more relaxed, you can always order room service - complimentary 24 hours a day. For our guests with special dietary needs, RSVP and Holland America offer "Light and Healthy" menu items featuring meals low in sodium and cholesterol, Vegetarian (vegan available), gluten-free, fat-free, diabetic or other special dietary needs meals, as requested.
Please note that an extra charge applies for the Pinnacle Grill and Tamarind Restaurant.

Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
Beautiful beaches, sunshine, coastline, nightclubs and superb restaurants await you in this Gold Coast enclave. Enjoy the restaurants and shopping on Las Olas Boulevard, and explore the revitalized Himmarshee area in downtown Ft. Lauderdale. You're also only a quick airboat ride from the Everglades, one of the most unique ecosystems in the world.
Costa Maya, Mexico
This is the relaxed side of Mexico. Here, along an unspoiled coastal paradise, you can still lounge in a hammock, sip a cold drink, and eat grilled freshly caught fish on a pleasant beach. Off the beaten path, archaeology buffs can visit Mayan ruins shrouded in magic and mystery. For the more adventurous, there are 4 x 4 trips into the surrounding jungle – or a chance to snorkel or scuba the world’s second largest reef.
Puerto Cortez, Honduras
Founded as the Villa de Puerto Caballos in 1524, this port is the jumping off point for the greatest diversity of shore excursions in Central America. You may want to experience Copan – some of the finest ruins in the Americas. Or take other excursions to the Lantecilla Botanical Gardens, zip-lining through Rawacala forest canopy, or white-water rafting the Humuya River.
Roatan, Honduras
An isle of wonders, including the world’s only "ski-lift" to the beach at the new $62 million Mahogany Bay port development. Roatan offers the best of both worlds – natural beauty, including unspoiled beaches and rainforest, or the chance to kick back and enjoy the new casino, shops, bars and restaurants of Mahogany Bay.
Cozumel, Mexico
We came here on our first cruise in 1986 and it is still one of the most popular destinations for our passengers. The town of San Miguel features world class shopping, as well as an exceptional array of quaint bars and restaurants along its cobblestone streets. For snorkelers, there is the nearby Chankanaab Park, with its lagoon full of the ancestral mystery which was at one time occupied by Mayan settlements. Just a ferry ride away are the Mayan ruins of Tulum, spectacularly sited on the sea cliffs.
Information about your 25th Anniversary Caribbean Cruise
What's included?
The price of your trip includes accommodations on the ship for seven nights, all meals, room service, basic beverages (coffee, tea and iced tea), entertainment and RSVP Vacations activities.
The price of your trip does not include airfare, transfers, shore excursions, alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, some specialty coffee drinks and spa treatments. Port taxes and gratuities are not included in the price of the trip. Port taxes have been added to your reservation as reflected on your invoice. Gratuities will be charged onboard to your account.
How should I dress?
For daytime activities we suggest comfortable clothes, a bathing suit, work out clothes – whatever makes you comfortable. For evening activities dress ranges from casual and club wear to more formal. Comfortable, relaxed clothing is fine for most evenings on an RSVP cruise. However, T-shirts, swimsuits, tank tops and shorts are not allowed in the main dining rooms, (T-shirts are fine in the casual dining room). We usually offer one formal night on our sailings but please check our website 4 weeks prior to your departure for the final decision. If we do offer a formal night, black tie is suggested but not required. In warmer climates, many of our passengers prefer to wear just a nice shirt and linen slacks for more comfort. Also check our website closer to your departure date so you can attend our signature parties dressed to the theme!
How much money should I bring?
All of your on board expenses are charged to your credit card. So, the only cash you'll need will be related to shore excursions.
How does dining work?
All dining is open, we do not assign specific dining times or tables on this sailing.
Do I need a passport and visa?
All RSVP Vacations guests require a valid passport at the time of departure. You have the sole responsibility for determining your immigration requirements and obtaining appropriate documentation, including but not limited to visas, passports, etc. Boarding will be denied for failure to possess the appropriate immigration documentation.
As for a visa*, if you mean an extra piece of government documentation required in addition to your passport then no...not for the countries visited on this trip. If you mean a plastic credit card...well it never hurts.
*Visa and documentation requirements vary by destination and change from time to time without prior notice. Additionally, ensure that you check with the consulate of each country you will visit at least three months prior to departure to verify current regulations. It is your obligation to have complete travel documentation. Please reconfirm visa requirements 5-7 days prior to departure to verify current regulations.
Embarkation Information
Your cruise will depart from Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale, Forida. There are two parking garages located at Port Everglades; the Northport Parking Garage serving terminals 1, 2, and 4 and the Midport Parking Garage serving the remaining cruise terminals. The cost of parking for 2010 at either garage is $15.00 per day and is subject to change for 2011.
