Lisbon to Dublin All-Lesbian Cruise 2016

June 26 – July 4, 2016
Windstar msy Wind Surf

Olivia all-lesbian Western Europe cruise Follow the dreamers of the world from the coast that launched a thousand explorers to the land of leprechauns and rainbows. Nations that face the Atlantic have always wondered what lies beyond the horizon. From the soulful strains of fado to a stout Irish Guinness, Galicia's famed seafood to the granite castles of Brittany, this all-lesbian cruise is full of fascinating discoveries.

There's no shortage of maritime history, Gothic castles and ginger locks in this part of the world. Begin in Lisbon, the city that launched the Age of Discovery, and wander the medieval maze of Alfama to St. George's Castle or shop for leather and designer fashions in Baixa. Porto is most famous for its port wine, discovered by accident in the 17th century, and ornate Baroque churches. In Galicia, you'll find the ports of Vigo and El Ferrol, the former of which you can dine on fresh seafood in the famous El Berbes Quarter.

The latter showcases the twin castles of San Felipe and La Palma, the main base for the Spanish navy in the 17th century. Further north in Brest, greatly influenced by Cornish and Welsh peoples, travel to see the prehistoric standing stones or tour Brest Castle, the oldest active military stronghold in the world. See rare birds, visit the Abbey Gardens or check out the Cromwell Castle on the Isles of Scilly. Across the Celtic Sea, explore Ireland's oldest fortified city, Waterford, and raise a glass at 300-year old T&H Doolans' Pub.

When you finally make your way to Dublin, be sure to see the 11th century castle, grab a pint of Guinness and cross the Ha'Penny Bridge to see the Book of Kells at Trinity College. Cheers!

Porto/Lexio, Portugal
Western Europe All-lesbian cruise - Porto, PortugalMonday, June 27, 2016

Built into the granite cliffs at the mouth of the Rio Douro, the hilly city of Porto presents a heady juxtaposition of eras and styles. Here, medieval alleyways, orderly neighborhood squares, and ornate Baroque churches readily intermingle. The highlight, though, is a taste of port wine at its best – a happy accident dating to the 17th century when brandy was discovered to preserve wine for transit.

Vigo, Spain
All-lesbian Western Europe cruise - Vigo, SpainTuesday, June 28, 2016

See the twisting streets, old mansions, and beautiful plazas of the old district, parts of which have survived since medieval times. Brest, France
All-lesbian Western Europe cruise - Brest, FranceFriday, July 1, 2016

Welcome to Brest, and to Brittany, where you'll hear whispers of Cornish and Welsh in the local French dialect. Brittany has a unique culture that still echoes its Celtic past. Tour Brest Castle, with more than 1,700 years of history, the oldest active military stronghold in the world.

Isles of Scilly, United Kingdom

Waterford/Dunmore East, Ireland
