Welcome to Ireland! Dublin is a city of delights and surprises. Stroll across the Ha'Penny Bridge to Trinity College for a glimpse of the Book of Kells. Step inside the 11th century Dublin Castle. Stop by the Guinness Storehouse or Old Jameson Distillery for a taste of Irish history. Dublin is a fabulous city with warm, friendly people!
Douglas, Isle of Man Tuesday, July 5, 2016
Inhabited for over 8,000 years, the Isle of Man is a mix of Celtic and Norse influences, which you'll notice as soon as you step off the ship. Its 14th century castle at Peel, the Rushen Abbey, and its own breed of cats and sheep make this island a unique place to visit. Douglas, the capital and largest city, boasts one of the most exciting road and motorcycle race tracks in the world (you can experience it on an optional excursion on a three-seater trike).
Portrush, Northern Ireland Wednesday, July 6, 2016
Today, you'll experience the beauty of this Northern Ireland resort town, with its sandy beaches, magnificent tide pools, and the Royal Portrush Golf Club, the only golf club outside of mainland Great Britain. Take an optional excursion to the capital city, Belfast or check out Giant's Causeway, unique rock formations that have stood for millions of years. You'll also have the option to see Bushmill's Distillery, which has continuously produced whiskey for almost 400 years.
Tobermory, United Kingdom Thursday, July 7, 2016
You'll see bright, colorful buildings as you pull into this cheery port town. The area around the town is filled with history, and you can take optional excursions to see Glengorm Castle, Iona Abbey (regarded as the birthplace of Christianity in Scotland), or Mull's Duart Castle, where Tobermory's Spanish Galleon was imprisoned. If you prefer to stay in town, walk along the coast to see the many varieties of wildflowers, ferns, mosses, lichens, fungi, and trees living in the Celtic rainforest.
Stornoway, United Kingdom Friday, July 8, 2016
Stornoway is the main town on the Island of Lewis. This quaint town has a bustling harbor, specialty shops with handcrafted goods, and a variety of restaurants. Be sure to visit Lewis Castle, or try the renowned Stornoway black pudding (and white and fruit pudding too!).
Kirkwall, United Kingdom Saturday, July 9, 2016
Kirkwall is your gateway to ancient cities and picturesque harbors. Take an optional excursion to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Neolithic Heartland of Orkney and see the 5,000 year old village of Skara Brae, the "Scottish Pompeii." Stroll the streets of the seafaring town of Stromness, visit the hand-painted Italian Chapel on South Isles, or try a wee dram of whiskey at the world's most northerly distillery. You also have the opportunity to hear all about the Laird at Skaill House.
Invergordon, Scotland Sunday, July 10, 2016
Invergordon is your entry point to the famous Scottish Highlands (and yes, it will look exactly like you picture it). Visit Loch Ness for a chance to glimpse at Nessie or walk around one of the many historic castles, such as Cawdor Castle (reputedly home to Macbeth) or Dunrobin, the ancestral home of Clan Sutherland. You'll also have another chance to taste one of Scotland's most well-known whiskeys at Glenmorangie Distillery.
Day at Sea Monday, July 11, 2016
Time to relax, today. Sip a glass of wine or sparkling water and chat with friends. Get a massage at the spa, sunbathe at the pool, or just sit and enjoy gorgeous views of the Scottish coastline.
Edinburgh/Leith, Scotland Tuesday, July 12, 2016
Your vacation ends this morning in Scotland's beautiful capital city. But you can plan to stay on with us for our post-cruise vacation stretcher to explore Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Palace of Holyrood, the Royal Yacht Britannia Stirling Castle and the Scotch Whiskey Heritage Center.
