Epic Journey to the Lost City of the Incas: Hiking the Inca Trail
Source Events have put together a unique multi-sport trip that combines the classic four day Inca Trail hike to machu Picchu with mountain biking, white water rafting, and the opportunity to explore the enchanting colonial city of Cusco.
The Inca Trail winds its way from the Sacred Valley passing through cloud forest and barren mountain passes, spectacular Inca terraces and ancient sites, exposing you to the natural elements at their most extreme. You will be hiking for 6 ? 7 hours a day at altitudes of over 10000 ft . The scenery is absolutely spectacular and so its well worth the effort. The hike is fully supported and includes all meal and tent accommodations. You will only be required to carry your day pack and the porters will carry the rest.

Day 1
Arrive Lima
Lima, "City of Kings", meet and greet on arrival and transfer to the hotel.
Day 2
Cusco
Fly on to Cusco, the citadel of Inca civilization. Overnight in this beautiful colonial city. (B)
Day 3
Sacred Valley / White Water Rafting
Enjoy a white water rafting trip on the Urumbamba River. Visit the temple city of Pisac and explore Ollantaytambo, the oldest occupied city in the Western Hemisphere. Overnight in the Sacred Valley. (B, L)
Day 4
Sacred Valley / Mountain Biking
An eciting, full day, cross country biking tour through the Andean countryside. Approx. 5 hours riding. Overnight in the Sacred Valley. (B, L)
Day 5
Inca Trail
Starting this epic trek at Km 77 hike from Chillca to the ruins of Llaqtapata. Approx. hiking time 5 hours, elevation average 9000 ft. (B, L, D)
Day 6
Inca Trail
Climb through increasing spectacular terrain to the highest pass on the trail, Warmiwanuska at 13,776 ft. A hard day but worth it! Descending you'll make camp at Lulluchapampa at 11,800 ft. Approx hiking time 6-7 hours. (B, L, D)
Day 7
Inca Trail
Hike through tropical vegetation along the original Inca paved road and up a superbly designed stone staircase to Sayacmarca. Continue on to the enchanting Phuyopatamarca ruins. The view is spectacular, snow capped peaks sore up in the background. Approx. hiking time 8-9 hours, campsite elevation 8692 ft. (B, L, D)
Day 8
Machu Picchu
All your efforts are rewarded, standing at the Sun Gate, looking at the citadel before you is a truly mythical experience. You will have the full day to explore before returning to Cusco by train. (B)
Day 9
Depart Cusco / Lima
