Celebrity's Xpedition

Galapagos Islands Gay Group cruise on Celebrity's Xpedition Pied Piper Travel proudly presents a cruise to the Galapagos Islands on Celebrity Cruises ship, Xpedition! In addition to the traditional itineraries we have offered you in the past nineteen years, Bermuda, Transatlantic, New England/Canada, Hawaii and the Caribbean, Pied Piper Travel now offers you this unique itinerary! This is a most incredible voyage, and you will sail with Celebrity Cruises, known for its highest standards of food and service!

Many destinations promise visitors the chance to "step back into history." A Celebrity Xpedition to the Galapagos Islands perhaps best exemplifies that promise, as we take you to a destination that helped to shape one of the world's leading scientific doctrines. The are known as the inspiration for Charles Darwin's theory of evolution, this cluster of islands is so isolated that many of its creatures cannot be found anywhere else on earth. From the giant tortoises that bear the Galapagos name, to the marine iguanas and "Darwin" finches, the Galapagos islands afford visitors the chance to observe a living laboratory of adaptation. Celebrity Cruises provide guests with this rare, up-close experience with the smallest possible environmental impact to these precious shores.

Celebrity's Xpedition

Celebrity's XpeditionCelebrity's newest ship is one that sails you back into history, through the fabled waters surrounding the Galapagos Islands. Cruise aboard Celebrity Xpedition and you'll experience a sense of intimacy that can only be achieved aboard a smaller ship. And yet, Celebrity Xpedition is filled with touches that are luxuriously familiar. Morning mimosas and moonlit toasts are just a few of the spoils you'll enjoy as you embrace the timelessness of the Galapagos Islands - a land that time has seemingly forgotten.

Baltra (Galapagos)

Galapagos Islands Gay Group cruise from Baltra Prepare for an adventure-filled exploration through the Galapagos Islands on this beautiful island. During World War II, the island's airport was a US Military base protecting the Panama Canal from enemy attack. Surrounding the airport now you will see land iguanas indigenous to the island.

North Seymour (Galapagos)

Galapagos Islands Gay group cruise visiting North SeymourOff the northern tip of Baltra is this flat, low-lying island where blue-footed boobies nest, sea lions play and the largest colony of frigate birds in the Galapagos congregates.

Kicker Rock (San Cristobal)

Galapagos Islands Gay group cruise visiting Kicker Rock, San Cristobal Off the northwest coast of San Cristobal lies Kicker Rock, where thousands of years ago a volcanic eruption left behind enormous vertical rock faces that rise nearly 500 feet from the ocean. There are actually two volcanic rocks here, with a channel between where small boats can navigate. Nicknamed Sleeping Lion because of its shape, Kicker Rock is an important ecological monument as it's home to many species of nesting birds including frigates and blue-footed boobies. It's also magnificent for snorkeling as tropical fish are abundant and the water is crystal clear.

P. Baquerizo (San Cristobal)

Galapagos Islands Gay group cruise visiting P. Baquerizo, San Cristobal Eroded volcanic peaks in the north and rich vegetation in the south characterize the island. This island is also home to the only freshwater lake in the Galapagos.

Punta Suarez (Espanola)

Galapagos Islands Gay group cruise visiting Punta Suarez, Espanola Among the many sights of Isla Espanola is Punta Suarez, a rocky point of land where guests may observe various colonies of sea birds as well as fauna found nowhere else on the planet. Also on this island is Bahia Gardner, a beautiful beach offering an excellent opportunity to relax and swim.

Cormorant Point (Floreana)

Galapagos Islands Gay group cruise visiting Cormorant Point, Floreana Floreana Island was once a penal colony for Ecuador, the first capital of the Galapagos and where Charles Darwin met the viceroy of Galapagos. Your excursion options include a medium-intensity wet landing at Cormorant Point (or Punta Cormorant), where you may see two plant species found only at this particular site, as well as flamingos, stilts and whit cheeked pintail ducks. Or try advanced snorkeling in Devil's Crown Volcanic Cone to spy grunts, groupers, chubs, spotted eagle rays, white-tipped reed sharks, sea stars, parrotfish and rainbow wrasse.

Baroness Outlook (Floreana)

Galapagos Islands Gay group cruise visiting Baroness Outlook, Floreana Baroness Outlook lends a little mystery to Floreana Island as the spot where a self-proclaimed baroness, who disappeared with her lovers in the 1930s, kept watch for incoming ships. Champion, a small satellite island off Floreana, is one of the very few that holds a Floreana Mocking bird population. Afternoon excursions include advanced snorkeling at Champion Island and a low-intensity Zodiac ride for wildlife observation with wet landing at Baroness Outlook. When the stars come out, join us for an alfresco dinner and stargazing with our bridge officers.

Las Bachas (Santa Cruz)

Galapagos Islands Gay group cruise visiting Las Bachas, Santa Cruz This white-sand beach on Isla Santa Cruz is a major egg-laying site for Pacific green turtles, but pelicans and flamingos feel equally at home here, too.

Bartolome (San Salvador)

Galapagos Islands Gay group cruise visiting Bartolome, San Salvador The variety of volcanic formations found here give this small, barren island a moon-like appearance. A hike over the island's lava tubes and tuff cones leads to a spectacular view of Pinnacle Rock, where sea lions and penguins are often seen cavorting in the waters.

Urvina Bay (Isabela)

Galapagos Islands Gay group cruise visiting Urvina Bay, Isabela In 1954, the Alcedo Volcano erupted on the island of Isabella, the largest island of the Galapagos, lifting part of the ocean floor about 32 feet to reach the surface. This intriguing land is now known as Urvina Bay, and as you walk on these exotic shores, keep in mind you are walking on the remnants of once-sunken coral reefs, so be sure to notice the rock formations - coral heads of yesteryear. You'll also see colorful marine iguanas, turtles, seashells, and birds like the flightless cormorants.

Punta Espinoza (Fernandina)

Galapagos Islands Gay group cruise visiting Punta Espinoza, Fernandina Here on Isla Fernandina, guests may walk on recent lava flows from La Cumbre volcano and also observe the flightless cormorant, one of the islands' best examples of evolution.

Puerto Egas (San Salvador)

Galapagos Islands Gay group cruise visiting Puerto Egas, San Salvador Follow Puerto Egas, a coastal trail on Isla Santiago, and your rewards will be many: fur sea lions, Sally Lightfoot crabs and grottos made from black lava.

Dragon Hill (Santa Cruz)

Galapagos Islands Gay group cruise visiting Dragon Hill, Santa Cruz Dragon Hill, or "Cerro Dragon," is named after its population of land iguanas. The site offers a beautiful view of the landscape and two small brackish lagoons where flamingos and other shore birds occasionally feed. Along the trail, we'll cross a beautiful "white forest" of Palo Santo (incense) trees and Galapagos cotton plants. Excursion options include a high-intensity hike with swimming/snorkeling at the beach, high intensity snorkeling from a zodiac followed by a short walk and a low-intensity Zodiac ride along the coastline with optional dry landing for animal observation.

Puerto Ayora (Santa Cruz)

Galapagos Islands Gay group cruise visiting Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz A fifteen-minute stroll from one end to the other along Charles Darwin Avenue promises plenty of sights and sounds in this, the largest city of the Galapagos Islands. A charming seaside town, Puerto Ayora features Ecuadorian and international cuisine, local artisans and shopping as well as snorkeling and scuba diving.
